Phyllo vs SignalShelf: a Phyllo alternative for public creator data

Phyllo’s strength is consented data: creators connect their accounts and you get metrics only the account owner can see. If you need public data on creators who will never connect, SignalShelf needs no consent flow at all.

At a glance

Their numbers are quoted from Phyllo’s public pages, read 3 November 2026. Ours are from our pricing page and our own benchmark. Unknown means the figure isn’t published.

Where Phyllo is stronger

Private, owner-only metrics such as earnings, impressions, story metrics and audience demographics, with the creator’s consent. Public scraping can’t provide those.

Very broad platform list and compliance (SOC 2 Type 1 per their site).

Good fit when creators sign up to your product and connect their accounts.

Why switch from Phyllo

No consent flow: look up any public profile or post with a handle or URL.

Published prices: $0.95 to $0.50 per 1,000 credits, 1,000 free credits + 5,000 to earn, no sales call.

Synchronous JSON with ScrapeCreators-compatible shapes on /v1 paths.

Social plus web data (Google Maps, app stores, Amazon) on one key.

How to switch

1. Create a free account and API key: 1,000 credits, no card · earn 5,000 more.

2. Keep Phyllo for creators who connect their accounts (private metrics). Use SignalShelf for everyone else’s public data.

3. Call /v1/<platform>/profile with a handle, x-api-key header. There is no user, token or SDK step.

4. Store our JSON next to your Phyllo data, keyed by platform + handle.

Anything we don’t serve yet returns a clear error and costs 0 credits, so you can run both side by side while you move over.

FAQ

Is SignalShelf cheaper than Phyllo?

We can’t say: Phyllo doesn’t publish prices (read 3 Nov 2026). Ours are public: $0.50 to $0.95 per 1,000 credits.

Can SignalShelf return private creator metrics?

No. We only return publicly visible data. Earnings, impressions or audience demographics need the creator’s consent, which is Phyllo’s model.

Is SignalShelf faster than Phyllo?

We haven’t timed Phyllo, so we don’t claim it. The only provider we have speed-tested is ScrapeCreators: median 1.44 s for us vs 3.96 s for them on 119 endpoints (3 Nov 2026). The method and raw data are on our benchmark page, so you can run the same check against Phyllo yourself.

Can I pay for SignalShelf today?

Yes. Start with 1,000 free credits + 5,000 to earn, then buy a one-time pack by card, PayPal or UPI. Credits never expire.
