Where Bright Data is stronger

Infrastructure at enterprise scale: proxies, unblocking and ready-made datasets you can buy outright.

Flexible delivery: webhooks, cloud storage and several file formats.

Billing only on successful deliveries, a generous free tier and a live checkout.

Why switch from Bright Data

Lower price per request: $0.95 to $0.50 per 1k credits vs $1.50 (pay as you go) or $1.30 (Scale) per 1k records.

Synchronous: one GET returns JSON in the same request. No trigger, snapshot_id, polling or download step.

Drop-in shapes: our /v1 paths return ScrapeCreators-compatible JSON, so existing parsers keep working.

Small-team friendly: no monthly minimum, 1,000 free credits + 5,000 to earn, credits never expire.

How to switch

1. Create a free account and API key: 1,000 credits, no card · earn 5,000 more.

2. Map each scraper to an endpoint, e.g. Instagram profiles → /v1/instagram/profile, TikTok profiles → /v1/tiktok/profile, LinkedIn company posts → /v1/linkedin/company/posts.

3. Replace the trigger → progress → snapshot flow with one GET per input, x-api-key header.

4. For big batches, run requests concurrently in your own worker instead of waiting on a snapshot.

Anything we don’t serve yet returns a clear error and costs 0 credits, so you can run both side by side while you move over.

EXAMPLE
curl "$SIGNALSHELF_BASE_URL/v1/tiktok/profile?handle=nasa" \
  -H "x-api-key: $SIGNALSHELF_API_KEY"

FAQ

Is SignalShelf cheaper than Bright Data?

Per request, yes: $0.50 to $0.95 per 1,000 credits vs Bright Data’s $1.30 to $1.50 per 1,000 records on its Web Scraper API (read 3 Nov 2026). One of our requests can return several records (for example a page of posts), so compare on your own workload.

Do you sell datasets like Bright Data?

No. We serve live lookups through an API. If you need a pre-collected historical dataset, Bright Data is the better fit.

Is SignalShelf faster than Bright Data?

We haven’t timed Bright Data, so we don’t claim it. The only provider we have speed-tested is ScrapeCreators: median 1.44 s for us vs 3.96 s for them on 119 endpoints (3 Nov 2026). The method and raw data are on our benchmark page, so you can run the same check against Bright Data yourself.

Can I pay for SignalShelf today?

Yes. Start with 1,000 free credits + 5,000 to earn, then buy a one-time pack by card, PayPal or UPI. Credits never expire.
